How can I save money on my heating bills?

Bleed Your Radiators

Trapped air in your system will stop the warm water circulating properly, affecting how warm your radiators get. The same amount of energy is used trying to disperse the heat around the system but with less beneficial output.

Install Smart Heating Controls – Be in Control of Your Heating

With smart controls you can adjust the settings with an app on your phone, so you only use energy when you need to. For example, if you are going to be later home than planned, you can delay your heating from coming on, or even give it a boost if you are due back early.

Turn Down The Heat

Turning your heating down by just 1°C can save you around £145 a year on your bills.

Do Not Use Energy Heating Rooms You Rarely Use

Why not turn down the radiators - heating a room you spend little time in, is a waste of energy.

Reduce Your Boiler Flow Temperature

If you have a combi boiler you could reduce the flow temperature – this is the temperature your boiler heats the water up to, before sending it off to your radiators. If, for example, your flow temperature is set at 80℃ and you reduce it to 60℃, this could result in an annual saving of up to £112.
